1. THE REP IN THIS BOOK IS OUTSTANDING! I was pleasantly surprised that is was introduced so casually and without flourish. I knew I was going to love it as soon as I read that!
   
2. PIRATES: Who doesn’t love a good pirate story? Add in some sibling discourse and that makes the piracy even juicier!
   
3. FOUND FAMILY: One of my favorite tropes ever is found family. This novel has it in spades. The ship crew really just meshed so well together, and it felt like they were home with each other.
   
4. THE ROMANCE!: Did I mention there was a lot of representation in this book? The sapphic romance was a slice of deliciousness for me.
   
5. HORROR: This book gave just enough horror slices to be enjoyable for horror lovers, but tame enough for the average reader to enjoy.
